Ting's Research Interests

Layer by layer polyelectrolyte self-assembly has been used a lot to modify a surface. The polyelectrolyte multilayer films have many advantages: they are easy and inexpensive to make; they are stable; their thickness can be tunable; they are biocompatible; it would not be difficult to do chemistry on them.

The reflective interferometric sensing (RIS) system is a highly sensitive and selective method to detect the topology of a surface. Under certain conditions, reflectivity changes depend only on surface thickness changes.

My research interest is to modify Silicon surface by using LBL self-assembly and detect the topology of the surface through RIS system.
