Research:
The goal of this project is to research photoinjection of electrons into carbon nanotubes (CNTs) from polypeptides with covalently bound,
zinc-substituted heme. These polypeptides will be designed to optimally, noncovalently, bind to the CNTs. The photophysics of photoinjection
and charge separation will be studied. This research is part of a larger, modular project, aimed at hydrogen generation from solar energy.
